"Dedicated nurse but slow process"

About: Dementia and Older Persons Mental Health / West Memory assessment service Team

(as a relative),

I took my husband to the Memory Assessment and was pleased with how the assessment went. The nurse was really nice, and was very dedicated. After the appointment, we received a letter outlining what to expect next. However, the plan has changed slightly, and we have found the process to be quite slow. This delay has been exacerbated because the nurse was on holiday for two weeks. He reached out to my husband and myself this morning for a lengthy conversation and has now referred my husband to additional teams for support, which we will wait to hear from. I feel that the feedback process has been rather slow, causing us additional worry. I am hopeful that we are now moving in the right direction.

Thank you for taking the time to feed this back to us, your feedback is helpful. I am sorry that your journey through the memory assessment service has been a slow one. We are in the process of improving our communication with patients and their families. If you would like to discuss your experience and more, than I would be more than happy to talk with you.
