"Made sure my mum was included in all conversations"

About: Community Services - (OPMH) / Doncaster Young Onset Dementia Service

(as a relative),

It was good that the nurse came to the house. I was referred by the doctor. It did not take long before they came to see me. The nurse was very patient and friendly and explained everything to my mum and more than once if needed. "She was alright", my mum said. She gave us both time to speak and listened to what we said.

The nurse made sure my mum was at ease and included her in all the conversations. I was pleased she let me interject when I needed to, she also made it clear when mum didn't understand anything.
