"It was great fun"

About: Learning Disability Community Services / Day Opportunities

(as a service user),

We had 10 classes of drama and then we put on a show  I was sneezy in it. Base staff help us helped us. Day opportunities coordinator Jacqueline helped me learn Makaton sing for a song. You got a friend in me. This was a new  I have not done this before. I also help paint some of the props. I went on stage with sign to get the audience to boo for the wicked queen. Ciara took these classes Simon our base staff help us and other day opportunities coordinators and volunteers. I felt good about it and it was great fun. I would like to do more in the future.

Hi deltatg77

Thank you for taking the time to post your story. I am pleased you enjoyed the show you put on at the Burnavon Theatre after 10 weeks of rehearsals with Ciara. I missed getting to see the show but I heard it was great. Good for you learning a new song and getting everyone to "boo" I bet that was fun and I see you helped paint the show's props too.

We have opened a new performing arts opportunity in your locality which meets every Tuesday; if you aren't already signed up to go why don't you talk to Jacqueline or Simon about this. Great to hear they were a good support for you prepare for your show.

Hope to see you performing sometime again

Garth (Head of Service; Day Opportunities)
