"A dedicated and compassionate group of people"

Recently I have been attending the Dermatology Department at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock, NHS Ayrshire and Arran for skin treatment. 

This is an issue that has been ongoing for several years and led to a referral to the specialist dermatology unit led by Dr Colgan and her team. 

From the moment I stepped into their unit I have never experienced such professional care and treatment from such a dedicated and compassionate group of people in my life. 

Their patience and commitment is quite phenomenal and an absolute credit to the Scottish NHS. Dr Colgan is a specialist in her field but never takes herself seriously and even engages in some banter which was most welcome. 

In addition Dr Colgan is supported by a dedicated team of nurses and assistants ably led by Lindsay (hope I got her name right) who very patiently answered all my queries about my particular medical issue. 

At no time did any of the staff indicate any unwillingness to answer questions which was done in some detail but also with genuine compassion. 

This team clearly love what they do and are so passionate about their specific field of medical care. 

Unfortunately they have now got to the bottom of my particular issue and given me excellent advice…I say unfortunately simply because I have thoroughly enjoyed attending my appointments over the course of the past few months. 

Please pass on my sincere gratitude for help and their dedication and hopefully they will receive the recognition that their services and patient care deserves.
