This is long overdue, but I want to give a special thanks to all the staff at Orthopaedic Woodend/DOSA Woodend.
After breaking my leg and dislocating my foot 7 years ago, I ended up having an unscheduled surgery at Dr Gray's to repair this. I had somehow snapped a screw in my leg that was placed to help align my fibula and tiba bone between 2019-2022, which needed to be removed due to constant pain I was in. I was put on a waiting list for 9 months to a year and 9 months later I ended up in the care of the team at Woodend.
The staff at DOSA are incredible, with how traumatic the initial incident of breaking my leg was I felt so relaxed prior to my operation. I couldn't fault the care I received that day. The theatre staff made me feel completely at ease during my operation, when I got my repair done I was awake to limit any complications, so it was extremely nerve wracking to be in that mindset again having to mentally prepare myself, but the staff went above and beyond to keep me relaxed and distracted and before I knew it the operation was complete. I wish I caught the name of the theatre staff member who kept me at ease but if this message gets to her, thank you.
I want to extend my gratitude to Mr Senthilkumaran for his support and fantastic care prior to and after my operation. At no point did he make me feel unseen or unheard. Everything was handled in such a professional manner and I felt safe in his capable hands. I even got to see the screw come out and via the x-ray which was cool! He talked me through the entire operation and the overall experience of something that was one traumatic ended up being totally fine.
Almost a year on, no more pain or uncomfortableness and I am able to do activities that I was hesitant on doing due to the pain. Huge thank you!
