"My experience as a holidaymaker"

About: Western Isles Hospital / Accident & Emergency Western Isles Hospital / High Dependency Unit Western Isles Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I, unfortunately, sustained a serious injury following a fall on Dail Beag which resulted in my cheekbone being fractured in three places. Fortunately my brother was able to get me to the hospital.

Upon arrival I was immediately tended to by a nurse and doctor who gave me first class attention and was given a scan almost immediately. From then on I was treated in a professional and really friendly manner by all the staff as I spent my first night in HDU and a further night on the surgical ward. At all times I was treated in a professional, respectful and friendly manner by every member of staff I came into contact with.

Obviously nobody goes on holiday to end up in hospital but I don't think I could have wished for a better hospital experience, and it certainly didn't detract from my holiday. I would like to pass on my thanks to everyone who had any input to my treatment. (By the way, the food was excellent too)
