"Heating on a hot day!"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Clinical Investigation Unit

(as the patient),

I visited the Clinical Investigations Unit this week for an appointment.  I had to wait a while in the waiting room, which wasn't a problem, apart from the temperature of the room.  It was very hot and I soon realised the heater behind my chair was on.  I can't imagine the staff in the department have much control over this as they all seemed to be struggling with the heat also.  A member of staff kindly offered all of us in the waiting room a drink and brought a jug of water with ice and cups.

Regarding the staff and department, it was a pleasant experience and the staff were all lovely.  There were delays in hearing back from a blood result due to a hospital system being down and the staff member I saw took my details to give me a call when she received these instead of me having to wait around even longer in the heat, or having to keep checking in.

Dear tucanayj44,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Many thanks for the lovely comments about the staff and am delighted to hear that you had an overall positive experience.

We had raised the temperature of CIU with the estates department alongside the radiators and are waiting for this to be addressed.

Apologies for systems going down whilst you were waiting results but am delighted to hear that the nursing staff sought an alternative for prevent you waiting for longer than necessary.

I will be sure to share your feedback with the team.
