"Shocking comments made to new mum"

My daughter was in the MLU in Craigavon Area Hospital after the birth of her first child and was horrified by the comments made by one of the midwifes. While speaking with my daughter the child began to cry in the cot and the midwife looked to him and made a very shocking and highly inappropriate comment. 

My daughter was obviously taken aback by this and asked if they speak to all the baby’s like that, to which they confirmed they do when they know they can get away with it, and I know the parent will be alright.

My daughter was shocked and deeply offended but being a new mother, she was exhausted and didn’t take issue with the midwife then and there. Unfortunately, the baby has had some ongoing issues, so my daughter has had a lot on her mind which is why she hasn’t made a formal complaint to date, however we feel it is important senior staff in the MLU at CAH are aware this is going on.
