"ward visit from podiatrist"

About: Waterside Hospital / Podiatry

(as a relative),

My father was admitted to hospital in August 2024. He took a heart attack and a stroke at the time he didn't realise how unwell he was but all he was worried about he missed an appointment with podiatry.

I was told it was very rare that the podiatry team would call to a ward as they would be busy....I reached out to the service. This little ray of sunshine Sarah called to the ward and she looked after my dad and reassured him. Fast forward 6 months and dad was discharged from the royal after getting a bypass and 2 toes amputated  and luckily we got a home visit from Sarah. She lifted dad's spirts and spoke to him as a person and explained what she was doing.
