"Outstanding, compassionate care."

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / High Dependency Unit & Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

My sister was admitted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh following a serious leg injury, a broken femur. She received care in the High Dependency Unit, Ward 215. From the outset, the staff have been outstanding. As a relative, I’ve seen not just the high level of clinical care she has received, but also the kindness, patience, and professionalism shown by the whole team.

My sister’s daughter is very close to her mum and is naturally very protective, especially as they both manage diabetes. The staff have handled everything with calm understanding and empathy, even in emotionally charged moments. It means a great deal to us to see our loved one treated not only with skill but with real dignity and humanity.

I felt reassured, grateful, and deeply moved by the way this team works under pressure with such grace and dedication.

Dear Grateful Brother

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your sister's care in HDU. I'm sorry to hear she suffered a broken femur.

It was heartwarming to hear how kind and compassionate the staff were, and that they looked after her with such professionalism and dignity. Your lovely feedback has been shared with the Clinical Management Team.

I hope your sister is recovering well.

Thanks again

Louise
