"Very supportive and given lots of advice"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Urology

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter has struggled for many years with her bladder during the day and night. After doing different tests at the hospital my GP referred her to the continence team in Doncaster.

Elaine has been in charge of my daughter's case, after having our first meeting with Elaine she made me and my daughter feel very comfortable, my daughter does get very embarrassed very easily with anything personal but with time she was able to tell Elaine some things but not all so I filled in the blanks.

We first started with the bed wetting mat and discussed increasing my daughter's fluid intake through the day and did monitoring sheets for when she had an accident during the day and at night. After a few months my daughter started improving during the night, although the day time took a little longer. Elaine has continued to be very supportive throughout and has given lots of advice along the way. My daughter moved away from the bed wetting mat and then tried the body alarm, she hardly wets the bed now and her day time wetting has reduced loads, just the odd one here and there.

We can’t thank Elaine enough for her continuous support over the past few years.
