"Short Hospital Admission"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Direct Assessment Unit Antrim Area Hospital / Ward B2 Acute Medicine (AMU2) Antrim Area Hospital / Ward B4 Acute Assessment Area

(as a service user),

I was brought into the Direct Assessment Unit last Friday. I couldn’t fault the staff here - from domestics, care assistants, nurses and doctors. They were quick to get me sorted and I eventually ended up getting admitted to AAA. Again, I couldn’t say a bad word about the staff here - I spent one night here until I was moved to ward AMU2. The staff here were excellent, extremely attentive and showed great compassion.

Nurse Shelly did my admission, she took the time and did not rush me, she was so nice and caring. Nurse Haley looked after me on the night shift, I was up through the night unwell and she was so kind and reassuring. The next day the nurse who looked after me again was so lovely and kind. The healthcare assistants - Nicole and Chelise were excellent girls, they were so kind and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Whilst I was only in for the weekend - I want to say a massive thank you to all the staff involved in my care and especially those in ward AMU2.
