"Accountability to self help"

About: Mental Health Community Services / Telford & Wrekin Community Mental Health Service Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Talking Therapies

(as the patient),

I sought counselling of sorts following a health scare which made me think about aspects of my working life. I had developed a cycle of hypothetical thinking about imagined problems for which I would obsess and then rehearse a range of conversations including the other persons responses. Whilst not a psychosis or hallucination I was planning and rehearsing for scenarios which were not likely to occur. This created a sense of anger and anxiety sparking "fight" or "flight" response in me- this added to my anger and anxiety.

I have had support and helped me to think rationally which I am very grateful for.
