"Supporting Mum with Parkinson's"

About: Cameron Hospital / Recovery & rehabilitation Queen Margaret Hospital / Neurology

(as a relative),

I recently went with my mum to her Neurology appointment after we noticed a tremor, slow movements, insomnia and some cognitive decline.

We met with Dr Wilkinson at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, Fife. He was absolutely lovely. He was so kind to my mum. He really gave her space to talk about her concerns and the appointment didn’t feel rushed or pressured in any way. He was incredibly compassionate and gave her a Parkinson’s diagnosis.

He sent an email to her GP so she could get her Levadopa as soon as possible. She is able to pick this up 2 days after her appointment.

My mum also saw her physiotherapist Kerry at Cameron Hospital in Kirkcaldy. She always says how lovely she is and how warm and safe she feels with her. Kerry also gave my mum info for a dial a bus which will help her get to her appointments as she’s not able to drive.

I am blown away by the care and support they have given her and how quickly support has been put in place.

Thank you so much to all involved. You have been so incredible and thank you so much for looking after my mum.
