I don't know who, in their infinite wisdom, decided to outsource Patient Transport.
I am spitting sparks. I have been waiting months for an appointment at Frimley Park Hospital, only to lose that appointment because Patient Transport didn't turn up.
The outsourced company took over on 1 April this year (appropriate date).
I had an appointment on that date. Patient Transport got me there, but twenty minutes late. However, after my operation, five hours and three further phone calls later, transport still hadn't turned up to take me home.
I have spoken to a member of staff at the hospital, they said this has happened to others too.
This company have the gall to ask us to ready two hours before being collected. So that's two hours of hanging around prior to bring taken for an appointment, if they turn up, and hours waiting to be picked up for the return journey.
The Patient Transport for NHS in this area was given to a company called EMed and they took over from 1 April 2025. In my experience, they have not been capable of organising, routes and appointment times, despite telling patients to be ready two hours before appointment time.
On another occasion I was to be picked up from GU12 and taken to Frimley Park Hospital for a long-awaited appointment. It didn't happen and I lost my appointment.
Later in the day, I received a phone call from the hospital saying there was a driver there wanting to take me home. Total lack of communication.
I would like Frimley Park Hospital to be aware of what is happening.
