I was admitted to Hairmyres orthopaedic ward 7 for my second knee replacement, my first was back in November last year.
On both occasions I arrived at the Hospital very nervous about what was to come.
My nerves were soon settled by the care and attention to detail of all the staff members.
I was informed what would be happening every step of the way, I was taken aback by the enormity of the staff involved.
I guess between checking in, being prepped for the procedure, having the procedure, and the after care there must have been at least 20 people involved.
Each and every one of them excelled at their part to play, from the consultant Mr Cunningham to the Porter and everyone in the wards (the departure lounge) the theatre staff I thank you all for something that will improve my wellbeing, hopefully for years to come.
A special mention for the after care team who probably put up with the most during recovery.
