"Suggestion: a place to try out living aids"

About: Occupational Therapy / North Locality Occupational Therapy

(as the patient),

I recently was provided with a chair to use in the shower with which my occupational therapist helped me.  It was easy to sort and he was very helpful.  My suggestion is that maybe somewhere in our area you could provide a place like the Independent Living Centre in Dundee have - it is set out as rooms, so lounge, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom etc and you can see all the aids that can be supplied and how useful they are.  I visited this place with friends and thought it was a wonderful idea and you are able to try the aids to see if they work for you.

Hi cruxmn88

My name is Jane Beekie and I am the Occupational Therapy Team Lead for North Perthshire.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I am glad you found your interaction with the Occupational Therapy Service easy and helpful.

I have shared your story and your suggestions with the wider Occupational Therapy Service and Managers, and personally acknowledge the benefits, some of the residents of Perth & Kinross would have, if we had a facility as you describe, on our doorstep.

We value all feedback and suggestions we receive, as this helps to inspire us and adds to future service development conversations.

Kindest Regards

Jane Beekie
