"Birth experience"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

After a tough year of losing 2 babies and nothing but bad experiences with the BGH, I was very anxious of giving birth here.

But soon as we arrived at hospital, the midwife Sarah was so calm, reassuring and went by my lead. Had such an easy, positive birth and most of that was due to her calmness.

Only thing that was a let down was first time breastfeeding. It took about 5 hours for them to ask how I was getting on and could of done with help latching on.

And also was told I would be discharged around 10am but was 12.30 and because we had a spin isofix car seat a midwife had to come downstairs with us but carrying my baby not giving us any explanation as to why and a simple explanation as to why she has to do it would of been ideal.

I am very grateful for Sarah's approach and couldn't of asked for a better birth.
