"Great paediatric care"

About: Borders General Hospital / Paediatrics (Ward 15)

(as a parent/guardian),

My little boy was in a lot of pain which turned out to be appendicitis. The staff were fantastic at involving him in the process and helping us to make the right decisions for him. He had laparoscopic surgery successfully and great care for his wellbeing afterwards when he was a little bit unwell. He was given excellent care and attention plus toys and activities to keep him in good spirits.

Thank you so much Polarexplorer for taking the time to feed back to us!

I'm so sorry to hear that your son was unwell and had to have some surgery, not only is appendicitis extremely painful, it can be a very worrying time for all.

I am delighted to hear that the staff involved you as parents in the decision making around your son's care so it was person centred for him.

I will share your kind words with the team, they will be delighted!

I hope he is recovering well and getting back to his normal self.

Kind Regards

Claire
