(as the patient),

I called phone first as I had accidentally cut my hand, I spoke to a very helpful nurse called Siobhan, she gave me great advice and offered me an appointment for minor injuries in Daisy Hill Hospital.

On arrival at ED the waiting room was extremely busy with standing room only  I was triaged very quickly and then sent through to minor injuries.

I was waiting only a short time when I was seen by a Nurse called Carmel at minor injuries who was very friendly and helpful, she sent me for an x-ray and then told me to come straight back to her after, she then dressed the wound and gave me antibiotics.

I was in Daisy Hill for less than an hour in total. I'm so grateful for the phone first service, thanks so much to Nurses,  Siobhan and Carmel.

We are delighted that following an assessment, Siobhan provided you with great advice and an appointment for Minor Injuries so you could receive prompt care in the most appropriate setting for your injury. Siobhan will be delighted with this lovely feedback. We all strive to make a positive difference in our patients journey so it is extremely rewarding to be described as very helpful. We are so privileged to have a job where we can care for people and make a difference.
