"You are told to seek help when you need it"

About: Talking Therapies Rotherham

(as the patient),

Although I was welcomed when I first attended and the staff member was very supportive, I felt that my case was taken to a superior and I have been fobbed off and passed over to MacMillan because I have had cancer and still suffering side effects from it.

This is only part of the reason that I am suffering from mental illness and I think that maybe they don’t see beyond my cancer issues. I have been unwell for a number of years and been under IAPT before and also the crisis team following past attempts to end my life. It just seems to be more of a box ticking exercise rather than a genuine attempt to help me, the patient.

I feel more depressed now having attended than before and I don’t think it’s fair to feel this way. You are told to seek help when you need it, which I have done. Now I feel rejected and I have been dismissed as nothing.
