"Very long waiting"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a friend),

Our friend came to CAH emergency with vomiting and head spinning. First she needed to phone first service and waited till 10pm for 1st call. Then again waited till 1am for blood samples. Now it’s 6:11am and still waiting for results. No idea how long to wait.

Good morning True caller,

Thank you for taking the time to post.

Our ED department is quite consistently overcrowded with a large numbers of patients, we also regularly have limited capacity to see new patients due to our cubicles being blocked by patients that are waiting a bed on the wards. Unfortunately I am unable to fully investigate your individual case without details of your friends attendance.

I apologise that your friend had to wait so long, it is frustrating for patients and for staff. I am currently working on a plan to display waiting times in the waiting room so that this is communicated better.

I hope that your friend got seen to and is recovering well.

Best wishes

Sr Green
