I have been under the care of Aberdeen Fertility Centre for over a year now and have really had the most positive experience. Anyone who experiences subfertility knows how much waiting is involved and how disheartening this can be. However, the centre have been so kind and shown such compassionate person centered care. At each scan appointment I have been reminded by the nurses that no question is too small and have felt cared for along the way. The whole multidisciplinary team has been a delight to deal with. I want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team of nurses and specialist nurses who have been a brilliant support, Dr Parkins who has kept me informed throughout and made my transfer a calm and easy process, the HCAs who have had to take numerous vials of blood (from me as an anxious bloods patient) and supported me during my procedures, the lab team for looking after my blastocysts and keeping me updated after egg retrieval/lead up up to my frozen embryo transfer with such positive attitudes. Lastly big thanks to Angela the fertility counselor who has been a literal angel throughout the process - she listens, she validates and most importantly has a genuine interest in her patients fertility journeys. I was very lucky to have success in the treatment, and I put a lot of that down to the way I was treated during my time at the clinic as I was able to stay as calm as I could be during the process. I am sad to no longer be under their care! They really look after the women who walk through those doors.
My only concern is the location of the clinic and the nature of the treatment. I do hope this is better thought out by service management when they eventually move to the Baird Family Hospital.
