"Impossible to contact"

Tried to call the surgery several times on Monday the 23rd June to confirm my dad had a blood test book. Record message say surgery is closed!!
There no way to contact the surgery other than for me to travel 30 miles and take at least 2 hours off work. Meanwhile my 90 year old father is worried about his blood being taken weekly, appalling service from the NHS
