"Taken seriously and attentively"

About: Neurodiversity Services / Doncaster ADHD team

(as a service user),

Titration of medication was done well. Appropriate time between dose changes. Always had a supply of medication. Prescriptions sent to my local pharmacy which was convenient. Description of my experience on each dose was taken seriously and attentively. Good advice given on how to take medication. Felt like I was a stakeholder in treatment and not just talked at/dictated to. When I made requests, such as requesting a afternoon 'booster' dose, this was taken seriously and dealt with professionally. Liked that other medical issues were also taken into consideration when discussing effectiveness of treatment. Liked that b.p. readings taken at home were considered as clinic b.p. readings were affected by 'white coat' effect. All questions I had were answered fully.

Would have liked more of a say on time of appointments (afternoon rather than early mornings), but understand clinic is very busy and this may not be possible. Would like a more direct line of communication to the clinic (phone/e-mail), rather than having to go through a general phone line and have messages be relayed.

Overall experience of the service was friendly, attentive, professional and that I was taken seriously throughout.

Hi I am Jo the Manager for the Team. firstly thank you for taking the time to complete the care opinion form. Your feedback is very valuable to the team as this enables the team/service to review their current patient centred care delivery. It was lovely reading how positive your experience was with the team and how supported you felt. Each practitioner within the team offer a person centred approach whilst supporting patients through their appointments. Utilising empathic, supportive and caring approaches towards care delivery is what each nurse within the team constantly offer towards our patients. Especially as at times the nurses within the team recognise that this can be quite an emotive journey for patients who have experienced symptoms of ADHD for a long time.

Please be reassured that contact through the Single Point of Access Team is directly emailed to the team who will respond in a timely manner to your queries/concerns. Regarding any future appointment times please do not hesitate to contact the team via the Single Point of Access number, and we will do our best to accommodate this request. Thank you once again for your feedback and good luck with the rest of your patient journey.
