Since becoming a full time unpaid carer a few years ago I have had reason to contact my GP, 111 and departments of various hospitals in the region to discuss changes to my own physical and mental health and to try and stay healthy in order to continue carrying out my caring responsibilities. Each new and existing symptom has been assessed without consideration for the root cause or how one condition can lead to others. So there's no holistic care, just more repeat prescriptions and more waiting lists.
Until you understand the daily challenges and pressures felt by unpaid carers you're never going to understand how important it is for us to stay healthy. We save the authorities many thousands of £££s each year but you can't seem do us the most basic of courtesies and understand how important our wellbeing is to the success of the system.
You continue to act like a commercial body and manipulate the figures in order to congratulate each of your departments. Based how well you meet targets set by panels, committees and boards you continue to completely misunderstand the reason for your existence, to keep people healthy and treat them as you would want to be treated yourself.
