"The care and death of my husband"

About: St Johns Hospice / St John's Hospice (inpatient)

(as a relative),

My husband was admitted to the unit twice this year with metastatic adenocarcinoma of oesophagus.

He died in the hospice late May 2025.

I was exhausted physically and mentally.

The hospice surroundings and interior were so peaceful and beautiful, immediately, we both felt relaxed. The caring yet professional attitude and demeanour of all the staff and volunteers was an indescribable comfort.

Hi woodpeckercb79

Thank you very much for taking the time to give us such lovely feedback. I'm really pleased that you found the environment at the Hospice calming and relaxing and that we were able to support you both when you needed us.

I will share your' kind words with the team this week and more widely at our next team meeting.

Thanks Again

Barry (Ward Manager)
