"Compassionate care"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a parent/guardian),

Visit today with our 5 year old after calling NHS24. Was really busy but the staff were all calm and in great spirits. Had is feeling relaxed from the minute we arrived.

CSW/Nursing team were great reassuring my son throughout.

The Dr couldn’t have been any nicer, was so patient and engaged with my son and spent time really checking him over and listening to our concerns.

Can’t fault a single thing.

I’m a first year student nurse and have worked in some care settings where it’s very task focused and the compassion has been lost. That can’t be said here, it’s all about the patients and you can tell the team love what they do and are great at it.

Left with medication and advice about who to contact if we need more support.

Thanks so much everyone !

Good afternoon Hey7272.

Thank you so much for posting about your positive experience when you had to attend the Primary Care Out of Hours service, Douglas Street, Hamilton with your 5 year old child.

I will pass on your lovely coment and I know the team will be delighted to hear that the care and attention given to your child was gratefully received.

I hope your child is now recovering well.

Dear Hey7272,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion. I am sorry to read your 5-year-old was unwell and required medical attention. I hope the wee one is doing much better now.

I understand from your story there were multiple services involved in your child’s care, I reply on behalf of NHS 24.

I am delighted to hear about the positive journey you experienced following your initial call with NHS 24’s 111 service and I see my colleague from South Lanarkshire Health & Social Care Partnership has responded relating to their element in your child’s care.

If you wish to share more information with me regarding your call to 111, then I could identify our staff who manage your call and share your Care Opinion story with them.

You can contact me by email at Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk. Could I please ask you to include your Care Opinion username as your reference. Thank you.

I wish you and your child all the best and thank you again for sharing your experience.

Kind regards,

Lynne
