"Considerate and caring nurses"

About: General Medicine / General Medicine Ward 4

(as a relative),

My dad was admitted to Ninewells AMU last Friday and sadly deteriorated within a few hours. We spoke to a neurosurgeon and an ANP and we realised then that dad wasn’t going to be coming home with us. After a short time he was moved into a side room and then moved into a side room in ward 4. This then allowed his large family come and visit him. The nursing staff were so kind towards my dad, who was unconscious throughout his stay, ensuring that he was clean and comfortable.

Because my dad was on end of life care, the nurses told us that any number of visitors could come and visit day or night. They were also considerate towards all of my family, giving us refreshments and offering us a camp bed to sleep on. My dad was in Ninewells for almost 3days before he passed away and when he did the nurses allowed us to stay with him until we were ready to leave. My family and I would like to express our gratitude to the nurses who helped us throughout my dad’s final hours.
