"An excellent nurse"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Emergency Medicine / Minor Injuries Unit

(as the patient),

I stood on a nail at work, it went through the bottom of my foot, causing an open bleeding wound. I was advised by medical staff I would need to go to A&E. I was in pain while walking and thought I was in for a lengthy wait at the ED department. Luckily I was seen quickly by a staff nurse (Vikki) who assessed my wound, redressed it and gave me a tetanus injection. She took the time to explain the signs and symptoms I should look out for if the wound was to become infected. I felt she took great care of me while I was in the department, made me feel completely at ease, she was professional, had a great attitude and was an excellent nurse.

Dear Perrie11,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us your story, and for the lovely feedback to Vikki, one of our Emergency Nurse Practitioners. I have passed on your kind words and it is gratefully appreciated,

I am glad that you were assessed and treated quickly & professionally, receiving the care and advice needed. I hope you have a speedy recovery and you are no longer in pain when you walk.

Many thanks again,

Jill
