"Scheduled appointments"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Outpatients

(as a relative),

Coming to the children's hospital for appointments, I've consistently experienced delays of 1-1.5 hours. It's been said that her clinics are fully booked but this should be factored into the scheduling process. Each person is allocated 50 minutes, yet I'm lucky if we get 10 minutes with her.

This situation makes me feel frustrated and undervalued also taking more than nessacary  time away from work to attend. My time is just as important and it's disrespectful to have such long waits followed by such brief consultations. It also makes me question the efficiency and organization of the clinic.

Dear Harpb87,

I am sorry to hear that this is your experience in our outpatient department. In order to further investigate this I would need more details about your appointment. If you would like me to do this, please could you email the details to LOTH.Feedback@nhs.scot?

Thank you for taking your time to bring this to my attention.
