"They made it all a little better for me"

About: Maternity Care / Postnatal (Ward 22)

(as a service user),

I was discharged home on Thursday following a planned C-section on Wednesday, the community midwife had me visit to Neonatal today as baby has lost a higher percentile of weight, the input from one of the seniors on Neonatal Wendy (? Nurse or ? Medical) was just terrific, her humour, approach to myself and my baby and reason for coming as well as as overall warmth just screamed this is a woman in a job she was born to do!

I appreciate we tend to be v quick to moan about things that we find unsatisfactory however this is my first instance where I’ve really felt this is an NHS worker who should get the recognition deserved on a platform like Care Opinion, whether things work out for myself and my baby as per the preferred plan or not, I’m glad I had Wendy’s input en route who made this all a little better for a new, and first time, sometimes struggling mom!

Hi KaMarMc90, thank you for sharing your lovely story.

Congratulations on having your baby. I appreciate it can be a worrying time when you are a first time mum. I am really pleased to hear your experience of Ward 22 and particularly Wendy was so good.

I shall pass on your message to the whole team, and I'm sure they will be delighted to hear your kind words.

Best wishes to you and your new baby.

Regards

Eileen
