Due for elective c section on in May but then find out via BBC news that Yeovil maternity was closing-leaving us in limbo for a number of days. The level of stress this causes was really unnecessary. I understand why it was done but the immediate closure seemed overly rushed.
Fortunately, our community midwife helped us getting InTouch with Dorchester and the care was transferred there - cannot fault care supplied by them.
Next issue that hasn't been handled very well is the transfer of care back to Yeovil after birth. It seemed at times that we were caught in-between some care provided by Yeovil midwifery, the GP and Dorchester post natal care.
Without, again, the care and intervention provided by Rachel this period would have been far worse. This area of post natal care would surely have benefited if Yeovil had been been able to clearly take charge.
