Referred from GP with concerning symptoms and was seen within 30 minutes of arriving. Department was busy but not uncomfortably so. Nurse practitioner lead, in my case, but ecg, bloods, X-ray and a CT scan all dealt with quickly and efficiently. From admission to discharge I was 4 hours and 30 minutes with a clear diagnosis and treatment plan from a consultant. Refreshments were offered during the time I was there (tea coffee, bottle water, biscuits and sandwiches.
This department is a success for the NHS allowing me to avoid a lengthy wait in A&E and hospital admission.
