"My outpatient appointment for a cystoscopy"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Urology

(as the patient),

I attended the urogynaecology department for a cystoscopy.

I was met promptly by a very friendly health care assistant who thoroughly explained what would happen and who would be involved.

The consultant, Miss Lone, saw me in advance of the procedure and went through my ongoing symptoms and steps I had taken to improve them.

She provided extra information about management going forward for me to implement.

The specialist nurse practitioner also introduced herself and explained her role and confirmed that she would follow up with a phone call to see how I was.

The procedure itself was carried out with exceptional care by Miss Lone and her staff, with every step explained which helped to put me at ease.

I had minimal discomfort and the findings were explained well during and after the procedure.

This team is a credit to the Royal Cornwall Hospital and I can’t thank them enough for their care as it really is appreciated very much.
