I slipped on a sign on a floor and broke my Femur in March 2025. Following surgery and two week stay in hospital I was discharged and was concerned about accessing physio and other support as my previous experience following knee surgery at a different Trust 4 years ago was difficult.
However, I cannot praise highly enough the work of Hollie (physiotherapist) and Hannah (Occupational Therapist) and the other physio and reablement assistants (Gemma, Anna, Lorretta and others) from the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Community Rehabilitation Team who have worked with me at home since my discharge in March 2025. The others include the equipment delivery service (NRS) a joiner from DMBC who attended our home to install banisters - unfortunately, I don't know their names, but all prompt and effective services.
I cannot praise these humans and this service highly enough for the care and professional support they have given me and the empathy and consideration they have shown in discharging their duties during a very difficult time for me. I would not have made the progress I have without this.
The way that Hannah and Hollie have worked to coordinate support with each other for me has been dynamic in every sense; we have not had to try to join the dots ourselves from various services and everything they said would be done has happened. Absolutely fantastic teamwork from them both.
I extend my thanks and gratitude as an expression of how much I value the work that they have done as I move into hospital based physio and the journey ahead.
"Cannot praise them highly enough"
