"Awful communication"

About: Lister Hospital

My son has been waiting for 3 years for knee surgery. He was 16 when he injured himself, he is now 20. His whole life has been put on hold.

He has seen 3 different consultants, numerous doctors and had 2 pre-op assessments. He had a phone call in Feb 2025 telling him his surgery would be April 2025. It's now June 2025 and his next appointment is with another consultant in October!

His recovery time will be approx. 6 months, so a bit of notice is important, due to his work.

But, at present we have no more information about a surgery date than we did 3 years ago. Whilst we all know the NHS is under staffed, that is still no excuse for the lack of poor communication. He has an appointment in October, what for?

His operation? Probably not, just to see another (the 4th!) consultant and tell him he needs a knee operation.

When will his operation be? We can't even get a year, let alone a month or date!

Terrible, time wasting service and extremely poor communication.
