I recently had a disappointing experience with the reception team at this GP. After being ill for three days and losing my voice, I called in and struggled to communicate effectively. Unfortunately, the receptionist, was unhelpful, rude, and dismissive. She abruptly told me there were no available appointments and ended the call without offering any alternatives or taking the time to listen to my symptoms.
Feeling frustrated, I walked to the center to get some clarity, but the service only got worse.receptionist was again rude and seemed uninterested in helping. When I explained the situation, she quickly dismissed me with, "We do not have an appointment, and I need to take other calls."
What was particularly concerning was the noticeable change in her attitude when dealing with other patients, as she suddenly became very sweet and caring. It felt like a clear attempt to cover up her previous behavior.
As the first point of contact for patients, a little patience and empathy go a long way. If cannot provide even the most basic level of support, I would recommend reconsidering her role in patient care.
