"A&E experience"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I went to visit A&E at Glasgow Royal Infirmary to get my injuries checked over. The staff were more than helpful this time which was appreciated, but didn’t like that it was so busy, 6 hr wait time, and the fact the police a few officers were there dealing with someone who was acting disorderly, it is a hospital for people with injuries not for police matters, I don’t wish to see that and find unsettling when am there to wait my injuries and wellbeing

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We’re very pleased to hear that you found our staff helpful during your visit — we know how important that is, especially when you’re dealing with an injury. We do understand your concerns about the wait times and the presence of police officers; unfortunately, from time to time, situations arise where their attendance is necessary to ensure the safety of all patients, visitors, and staff. Please be assured that we always aim to provide a calm and supportive environment, and your comments will be shared with the team as we continue to improve the experience for everyone.

Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.
