"I am so much more reassured"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I have been seen twice by the Rheumatology Team of North Devon Hospital, specifically by Dr Kyle.  I cannot praise him highly enough, the consultation I had with him was superb.

I have been on a long, convoluted and frustrating journey through the medical system before getting to see Dr Kyle but to have been able to have such a thorough and understanding conversation about my issues with him has been transformative.  Whilst it is still personally frustrating that we still don't know what is causing my pancytopenia, at least I know that I do not have a rheumatology related problem and Dr Kyle will also be a helpful point of contact for my GP should further issues develop in the future.

I will just keep going with the monthly blood tests through the haematology department for the future and I am more reassured now than I have been (although it would still be great to know what is causing the issue with my red blood cells in particular).

In conclusion, although it took a while to get there, once I was referred to rheumatology they saw me incredibly quickly and whilst I do not have to see them again,(I hope!), I am so much more reassured now that I have seen them.

Many thanks for taking the time to send your feedback about your experience with being seen by Rheumatology. I am sorry you have had, and continue to have, such a frustrating experience trying to find a diagnosis. Its lovely to have such positive feedback and I will pass this to Dr Kyle and the Team.

Hello

Please can you include Dr Barron in your message to them. He spoke to me at my first Rheumatology appointment and that was also very helpful.
