"All the staff were so kind and friendly"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Paediatrics / Paediatric Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

My daughter was sent to hospital by our local Nurse Practitioner for increased work on breathing during an asthma flare-up.

When we got to A & E she was seen by a Nurse after about 15 mins.  Her name was Tula, she made my daughter feel at ease.  She then had her own special bed in resus whilst she waited to go to PAU.  All the staff were so kind and friendly!  She got treated in resus and PAU and we were in hospital for around 8 hours in all.

In PAU there were toys to play with indoors and outdoors.  All the doctors were helpful and asked plenty of questions.  My daughter especially liked the Nurses Sarah and Emma.  Sarah played with her and did cheeky faces.  When she was improved enough to go home, she didn't want to leave!

Dear Jmummy84

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us about your recent visit to PAU, I am so pleased that both you and your daughter felt safe and well cared for, we know how worrying it can be when your child needs to come in to hospital.

We have a fantastic team on paediatrics and we are so lucky that Sarah and Emma are a part of that team. I will of course share your lovely feedback with them and the wider team on the Children's unit.

I hope you are all now settled at home and your daughter is feeling much better.

Thank you once again

Kind regards

Angela Giles
