"30 months and waiting"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire University Hospital Monklands / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I need a knee replacement operation, my GP has been excellent the rest of the system has been awful.

30 months and waiting pretty much homebound in severe pain which doesn't respond to painkillers.

You can't get a straight answer from anyone so I am forced to go private, terrible experience.

Dear Axelfl,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospitals Monklands.

I am very sorry to hear of the impact your pain is having on your life and that you are now facing a very long wait for surgery through the NHS. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you.

In order for us to look into this further, please could you contact our patient affairs team on the below email address so they can gather further details, investigate and provide a personal response?

Patientaffairs@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

I am happy to hear your GP has been excellent.

Unfortunately, GP’s are independent contractors and are responsible for responding to any feedback or concerns a person may have about the service; they are not registered to respond directly through Care Opinion. Please could I ask that you contact the practice manager so they can ensure your kind words and feedback gets back to the right people as I know it will be gratefully received.

Best Wishes,

Christine
