I had to be referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The staff were also extremely thoughtful, considerate and kind in their approach. Everything was explained to me in detail and if I left a voicemail, they got back to me straight away.
They kept in constant loop as much as they could (considering the communication between the ward 49, EPU, and team in Dundee was probably not ideal and although I could have benefited from communication regarding my follow up, the staff on the Early Pregnancy Ward assured me of what they could). They even accommodated me coming in the very next day to give samples when my GP didn't have any availability for me - which they probably shouldn't have to do. I believe it's because they understood my circumstance and the GP receptionist didn't understand the timely manner in which i needed an appointment.
On the same note, the team within the Hydatidiform Mole Follow-Up Service at Ninewells were excellent. Regular email and phone call updates to myself and my husband. They explained everything extremely well over the phone and always answered promptly as soon as I called. The director of the programme even called me once and offered me her sec's number should I have any questions. They communicated results of my samples and my pathology as soon as they had them. I can't fault them and think they are fantastic. If i needed to go for treatment, no doubt they would be just as kind. The team are a credit to our health service. Thank you.
