The playgroup has been set up by the Lynebank Health Visiting Team and is run by their excellent Nursery Nurses. Claire , Claire, Jacqueline and Lesley have created a fantastic, nurturing environment for both children and parents.
The group is run every Wednesday afternoon at St Margaret's Church and is a drop in session to work around your own schedule. There are lots of opportunities for various types of play and the ladies are always on hand to answer any questions, or give advice on any concerns you have regarding your child but may not feel warrant a call to your Health Visitor or GP. Personally, I have found the ladies’ knowledge, expertise and approachable manner invaluable over the past year.
The ladies take the time to ensure they chat informally with all of the parents over the course of the session, making you feel welcome and included. They also make a special effort to get to know all the children and seem to be genuinely invested in their achievements.
They frequently seek feedback as to what works for the families that use the facility and actively adapt to suit the ongoing needs of the group. One example of this, was that it was mentioned that most groups stop over the school holidays which can sometimes feel like a long time out of your usual routine. The team have arranged various meets throughout the summer holidays to accommodate this which I think just shows how committed they are to the wellbeing of the families they work with.
The playgroup really is a brilliantly run group and the ladies are an asset to their team. Thank you!
"A fantastic nurturing environment"
