"Long wait time but friendly staff"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Plaster Room

(as a parent/guardian),

Our son was born with bilateral fixed talapies. We met the consultant during pregnancy, to discuss the talapies and what that would mean for baby, including the procedures that would take place to treat the talapies. We attended the clinic to confirm the talapies and start the casting process when our son was three and half weeks old.

The wait time for getting an appointment was longer than we would have liked, we also waited an hour past our appointment time on the day. However staff were kind and friendly and helped us to feel at ease.

Dear @RMCm20

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re truly grateful that you entrusted our team with your son’s care, and we’re glad to hear that the support and kindness of our staff helped you feel more at ease during what we understand can be a very emotional time.

We also want to sincerely apologise for the delay in both securing your initial appointment and the wait on the day of your visit. We understand how important timely care is, especially when it comes to early intervention for conditions like talipes. Your feedback is invaluable and will be shared with our team to help us improve our scheduling and communication processes.

We’re committed to providing the best possible care and experience for all families, and we appreciate your understanding and kind words about our staff. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything more we can do to support you and your son on this journey.

Warm regards,

Mhairi Stirrat
