I attended wigan infirmary on the 25th April for bowel surgery following an unexpected diagnosis earlier in the month. From the moment I met my surgeon I felt completely at ease and reassured that although my situation was serious, the operation I faced would be done promptly and hopefully deal with the issue positively. When I initially went to get my results I found the surgeon very sensitive, informative and receptive to my concerns and questions, all which were answered.
Upon going for surgery, I experienced some complications as the operation should havd taken five hours but
actually ended up taking almost twelve. When I woke in recovery the
surgeon actually came to see me in
person that evening despite having
been in surgery for such a long time which i thought was so considerate. He gave reassurances that things had gone
ok overall and during my stay in hospital for the following 10 days, Dr
came to see me on a couple of
occasions and kept me briefed
throughout. I recently returned for my
post operation results and again was
overwhelmed with the professional approach and warmth. He gave a detailed explanation of the situation to date and my follow up treatment plan
which has put me at so much ease. I feel he is fantastic surgeon with a real
human empathy which means a great deal when facing situations of this
nature. Glad to say my operation was successful and I will be eternally grateful to this surgeon.
"Fantastic care, great consultant"
