My son was admitted to the Coborn Centre as an in patient. Most of the staff are very friendly and nice with a few exceptions.
The environment there was very hectic with adolescent children walking around the ward corridors all mixed together. I understand that they all have their individual issues, but the set up, procedures, processes and structure could be a lot better.
The security for patients, staff and visitors is currently inadequate, as I experienced this first hand. I was attacked, punched several times and kicked to the floor by a patient. How is this acceptable?
In my view, a full review needs to be done by senior managers to address these issues. The systems in this place are somewhat broken, as I've found I have also been given conflicting and inaccurate information, leading to confusion. Examples of this are around medication, treatments, food etc. There have also been breakdowns in communication.
I believe a lot needs to be improved and done before you can call the service provided as adequate.
