"Caring, compassionate and understanding"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I was met by a lovely receptionist who booked me in, with a smile, and another lovely lady who made sure I knew where I was headed. I was seen by a friendly and reassuring nurse  Kemy. She introduced herself and took me through all the pre questions. She was sympathetic to my circumstances and appreciated how nervous I was. I felt like I was in really safe and compassionate hands throughout the interaction. She also used humour in a really good way to make me feel at ease.

I then had a really short wait until I was called by a lovely lady called Grace who did the scan. She was once again, caring, compassionate and friendly, which was reassuring. She knew my history and did not ask me to repeat it but made me aware that she knew of my circumstances. She showed me care and understanding which was really appreciated. She also offered to see if she could sort out a query I raised with her on the day. Overall in what was a very stressful appointment all levels of staff made it a reassuring experience.

Dear Helct77,

Thank you for your lovely feedback. I am so pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience in our Clinic. We strive to treat our women with care and compassion, particularly in such difficult circumstances and I am glad to hear this was demonstrated and put you at ease.

I will feedback this back to both Kumy and Grace and it sounds like they went the extra mile to support you.

Best wishes

Emma Saunders
