Appointment made via 111 for my daughter who had sprained her ankle. Greeted by friendly reception staff. Seen at the appointment time by an excellent senior nurse who examined and obtained a good history of the injury and other health issues. She then sent us for an x-ray where we were seen promptly by excellent radiographers and back to minor injuries. Luckily no break so fitted with crutches and given aftercare instructions for sprain. Incredibly efficient, professional service. We were very impressed.
One negative was that there is currently work on the unit and the signage hadn't been changed on the external building. I dropped her at the entrance the sign said and went to park the car (unfortunately off site as no spaces). We then had to walk back outside to the old A&E entrance which was not easy as no wheelchairs and she couldn't put any weight on her foot. As this is extensive work, could they cover the old sign with a temporary sign so people know to access via old A&E entrance?
