"The wonderful care for my mother"

About: District Nursing / Lisburn District Nursing

(as a relative),

My mother of 105 came to live with me in 2023. Because of a cancerous tumour on the back of her right leg, district nurses came in every other day to dress the wound. As the tumour developed they came in every day. Without exception they were all kind, empathetic and gentle. I could not have wished for better care for my mother for the 20 months that they have been caring for her.

Each nurse, Gillian, Susan, Jeanette, Celine, Ruth, Sylvia and especially Donna were of enormous support not only to my mother but also to me. I cannot thank them or praise them enough for all they did for us. They became part of the family and I could not have kept Mummy up until the end at 107 and 5 months without their dedication and support.
